Fire rips through a house in North Clinton

On Sunday, March 9, 2003 the Clinton Fire Department responded to a house fire on Rogers St. around 7:00 P.M.

When fire units arrived on scene the residence was fully involved. The firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the blaze. A small area around the residence was evacuated when some toxic chemicals were found in the fire. An investigation of the fire is under way.

A man inside the home had been severely burned by the fire and was transported to an area hospital by Anderson County EMS. One firefighter was also taken to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries that were obtained while fighting the fire, the firefighter was treated and released that evening.
