Clinton City Records Division maintains the arrest records on everyone arrested by this police department. In addition, the section maintains all traffic accident reports and all crime reports.  To obtain an Anderson County background check, please contact the Anderson County Sheriff's Department at 865-457-7100 for information.

Copies of public reports are available, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Here you can also obtain a copy of your arrest record with the Clinton Police Department. Your personal arrest records check is available at the cost of $5.00, accompanied by your photo identification. Copies of all traffic accidents or crime reports are also available at the cost of $4.00.

In order to receive your report in a more timely manner when you arrive at the Records Division, please come with the following information. Please be able to provide, if possible, the date and type of incident, exact address, name of the complainant and/or victims involved, vehicles involved, if they were towed and if so, who provided the towing service. Bringing this information, or anything else that may be helpful for finding a report, will provide a more accurate and time efficient response.

Note: If you were involved in an vehicle accident and report it, regardless of who was at fault, or the outcome of any traffic accident investigation, you must submit a Tennessee Department of Safety Financial Responsibility Report within (20) days.  Failure to do so will result in the suspension of your drivers license. A copy of this report may be found by clicking here or simply by asking the records clerk.  There is no cost associated with a copy of the Tennessee Department of Safety Financial Responsibility Report.
