'The Clinton 12' accepted in Nashville's film festival...
The documentary film about the 1956 integration of Clinton High School has been accepted into the Nashville (Tennessee) Film Festival to be held on April19th-26th.  Screening dates and times for 'The Clinton 12' are April 25 at 7:30 pm, and April 26 at 2:15 pm.  Tickets are now available by clicking here.   » Full Story or Press Release

Groundbreaking work on Wal-Mart begins in June...
Knoxville developers said they anticipate breaking ground to construct a Wal-Mart Supercenter by early June of this year.  Smith made the statement Monday after the Clinton Regional Planning Commission approved the road design for the proposed Wal-Mart Supercenter, which will be located at Hillvale Road and Tanner Lane.    The road design plans consist of making improvements to both of the city streets, including widening Hillvale Road from a two lane to a four lane road, and Tanner Lane to a three lane road.

City's Sign Ordinance will not be changing...
The City of Clinton Regional Planning Commission decided Monday evening not to make any immediate revisions to the current sign ordinance.  This decision was concluded despite the upcoming changes to the Interstate 75 and Highway 61 commercial growth.  To view the current sign ordinances, please view the ordinance page here

The Big Spring Clean for the City of Clinton...                             
The City of Clinton Public Works Department has announced that Spring Clean-Up will be performed on Monday, April 2nd.  Public Works crews will be collecting items that normally are not collected during household garbage pick-up and taking them to the Chestnut Ridge Landfill.  Residents should place refuse and rubbish items beside the street, ensuring that nothing protrudes into the street or obstructs sidewalks, utility poles, water meters, fire hydrants, or mailboxes.  To view the full letter from Director Murphy, please click here

City website is under renovation...
As you probably could tell, upon arriving at this site, you noticed something a bit different;  We are in the middle of redesigning our website.  Please bare with us while we continue to update all the pages in a timely manner.  It should be completed within a few weeks.  Some links, if it is down, will route you directly back to the homepage.  As of now, we only have a few pages completed.  Please continue to check back, as many pages will be updated daily.

City accepts settlement in annexation dispute...                      
In a meeting this afternoon, the Clinton City Council voted 6-0 with one abstention to accept the Anderson County Commission’s settlement offer in the dispute over the city’s annexation of 200 acres of land considered to be primed for retail development, ending a nearly three year old legal dispute. Click here to view the annexation site in Adobe Acrobat...

Fox Toyota is making a move....
As many of you have noticed driving through town, Ray Viles Ford has relocated to North Severs Boulevard, across from Anderson County High School.  As of November 28, 2006, Fox Toyota announced they will be following, awaiting a corporate OK.  They plan to relocate their dealership near the I-75 annexation on a 10-acre lot located just behind Shoney's.  » Full Story
