Mayor Shoopman Biography
I want to thank everyone for visiting our city website.
Many things come to mind as I try to serve our residents. My main goals are
to continue to improve the city through education, expand our economy with
good, quality, high-paying jobs and maintain a sound retail and commercial
tax base.
The private sector is the catalyst that drives economy, but local government
can help by providing good conditions in which businesses can thrive. I want
the city government to help when possible, and not hinder when it can't help.
Further, I want to have the good sense to know when it can or can't help.
Our city is blessed with one of the best education systems - K-6th grade - in
the state. We provide our residents with the finest public safety with
caring police and fire departments. Clinton is known for its reputable
street and recreation departments.
Why not come and visit our city if you are interested in a place
to live where people know your name and care about your family.
