On 04/28/2025 we received a traffic complaint in reference to speeding vehicles on Eagle Bend Rd. at certain hours of the day. The patrol division immediately addressed the complaint and began to conduct traffic enforcement in that area. On 04/29/2025 Sergeant Matthew Howell observed a vehicle going 51 mph in a 25 mph zone around the 1200 block of Eagle Bend Rd. Sgt. Howell conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on Eagle Bend Rd. at Franklin Place. While Sgt. Howell was issuing the driver two citations he observed a strong odor of marijuana. Sgt. Howell asked the driver about the odor and the driver stated he had a large bag of marijuana in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted and a bag of marijuana (approx. 30g), grinder, and marijuana pipe was discovered. A concerned citizen complaint in reference to traffic violations produced a traffic stop where drugs were found. This is the cooperation and enforcement the citizens of Clinton can expect from their police department. It's community oriented policing such as this that make the City of Clinton a great place to live and work! #ServiceBeforeSelf

On April 04, 2025 Officer Gideon Cobb was dispatched to 2254 N. Charles Seivers Blvd. (Git-N-Go) for a domestic disturbance. While responding to the scene dispatch gave the description of a female involved, which matched that of a female on an earlier suspicious activity call of a female passed out in a vehicle with a needle in her arm. That female had left that location prior to officers arriving. Upon arriving at Git-N-Go Officer Cobb made contact with Demi Robison who appeared to be intoxicated. Officer Cobb requested the assistance of a K9 unit from Anderson County Sheriff's Office to conduct a sniff of the vehicle Robison was riding in. An alert for narcotics was shown and a search of the passenger side of the vehicle revealed 3.7 grams of heroin, 0.8 grams of fentanyl, 11 fentanyl pills, 1 methamphetamine pipe, 2 marijuana pipes, and 19 needles. Robison stated all of the items found belonged to her and that she had recently injected morphine and heroin in the restroom of Hardees. A check of Robison through NCIC confirmed she had a warrant for a narcotics violation out of Indiana, where she is also on probation for narcotics use. Robison was placed under arrest for the warrant and charged with multiple violations involving the narcotics. Good work Officer Cobb in your continued efforts to protect and serve the citizens of Clinton! A special thanks to Anderson County Sheriff's Office K9 corps for the assist! #ServiceBeforeSelf

On 03/23/2025 Officer Jessica Daugherty was patrolling the area of 1115 N. Charles Seivers Blvd. when she observed two juvenile males enter the Vape Kratom Delta 8 store. Officer Daugherty noted that several complaints regarding the business selling tobacco and vape products to juveniles had been reported to the police department recently. Officer Daugherty then entered the business to investigate and observed two male juveniles at the checkout counter with a vape and two packs of pre-rolled Delta 8 cigarettes. Officer Daugherty observed the clerk scan the items and never ask either juvenile for a valid identification. The juveniles paid for and were given back the items and proceeded to leave the business before Officer Daugherty made contact with them. Officer Daugherty released the juveniles to the care of their guardian. The clerk was asked about the transaction and admitted to not checking the juveniles identification and has also done so several times in the past. The clerk was cited to General Session Court for the violation. The City of Clinton Police Department conducts periodic compliance checks and will not condone the sale of vape, vape products, or tobacco products to minors. As a reminder to our community TCA 39-17-1504 (a) states that it is unlawful for any person to sell or distribute any tobacco, smoking hemp, vapor product, or smokeless nicotine product to another person who has not attained twenty-one (21) years of age or to purchase a tobacco, smoking hemp, vapor product, or smokeless nicotine product on behalf of such person under twenty-one (21) years of age. 39-17-1504 (d) states a person engaged in the sale or distribution of tobacco, smoking hemp, vapor product, or smokeless nicotine product shall demand proof of age from a prospective purchaser or recipient if an ordinary person would conclude on the basis of appearance that the prospective purchaser or recipient may be under thirty (30) years of age. In the case of distribution by mail, the distributor of tobacco, smoking hemp, vapor product, or smokeless nicotine product shall obtain from the addressee an affirmative statement that the person is twenty-one (21) years of age or older, and shall inform the recipient that the person is strictly prohibited from distributing any tobacco, smoking hemp, vapor product, or smokeless nicotine product, as defined by this part, to any person under twenty-one (21) years of age. #ServiceBeforeSelf

Winter weather can leave your vehicle’s tires in rough shape, which reduces performance and safety. It’s easy to take tires for granted since we don’t think about them all the time, but it’s true that having good tires on your vehicle leads to better performance, handling, and safety. #TireSafety Read more from NHTSA: nhtsa.gov/equipment/tires

***SCAM ALERT*** We have received several calls in regard to a John Riley with Concrete Masters going door to door attempting to sell "leftover" sealer and perform other repairs for customers with concrete driveways. It has been reported that Riley does very minimal work on the front end and collects full payment with a promise to return the next day and complete the job. Once payment is made Riley does not return to complete the job. It has also been reported that Riley is not using legit concrete products and can easily be removed just by walking on it. If you have any contact with this individual DO NOT give him any money and immediately report the contact to the police department.
