Enjoy the freedom of a safe ride home and #DriveSober this 4th of July.

The Clinton Police Department is diligently continuing the investigation of Kidde Korner Day Care. Investigators are working in conjunction with the Anderson County District Attorney's Office and the TN Department of Children's Services (DCS) to ensure a thorough investigation. A final update will be provided once the investigation is complete. Allegations of abuse are taken seriously and we urge the public to report any incidents by calling 911 or visiting our headquarters.

The City of Clinton's annual 4th of July celebration is upon us and we wanted to remind attendees and participants of a few safety items:
HEAT!! - It is forecasted to be very hot and dry. Please remember to stay hydrated and wear appropriate sun protection.
DRONES - A reminder that it is illegal to fly drones over large gatherings, water, and moving vehicles. A violation of these could result in a large fine by the F.A.A.
FIREWORKS - The City of Clinton municipal code 7-602 prohibits fireworks to be deployed anywhere within city limits. The city has made a significant investment in a permitted and controlled fireworks display for your enjoyment! Come to Lakefront Park to enjoy!!
NOISE - Please be courteous to your neighbors with your celebrations. The City of Clinton noise ordinance 11-201 and 11-202 specifically states between the hours of 11:00 pm and 7:00am that residents are to be respectful and not create unnecessary noise within city limits.
Thank you for your respectful attention to these safety points! Let's all work together to make this celebration of our Nation's Independence a safe, courteous, and fun event for everyone!

Everyone wants to feel safe on the road, that’s why we #DriveSober or call a friend or rideshare when we plan to drink.

Officer Jessica Daugherty and Officer Santino Gutierrez got ducked today by Moco Ducks! Moco Ducks is a FB group that encourages youth to initiate positive interactions with law enforcement by ducking them and grabbing a photo. These interactions lead to better partnerships and trust between the police and the communities they serve. Thank you Moco Ducks for this opportunity to serve!

We are proud to partner with Clinton City schools, Anderson County schools, and the Anderson County Sheriff's Office to be a part of the L.E.A.D. (Law Enforcement Against Drugs) program! L.E.A.D. is an educational program taught in schools that utilizes evidence based anti-drug and violence curriculum. It develops a framework of social and emotional skills that promote positive, pro social attitudes and behavior. The program fosters resistance to substance abuse and conflicts by providing real life scenarios to resist peer pressure and negative influences.
Officer Kristopher Miville is the L.E.A.D. officer for Clinton City Schools. He brings genuine care, integrity, and a strong belief in our youth. His efforts are instrumental in building trust and promoting a safe, healthy future for our community. Officer Miville is pictured with his most recent graduates from the program.
Lieutenant Scott Gregory attended the L.E.A.D. camp with CPD's crime scene response vehicle. He demonstrated several crime scene processing techniques for students.
Sergeant Matthew Howell also attended L.E.A.D. camp with his K9 partner "Tonto". He demonstrated Tonto's abilities to students and even let them get a hug from Tonto afterwards. Partnerships such as this is what makes our community strong, safe, and the best place to live and work in East TN!

Clinton Police Department Conducts Compliance Checks; Citations Issued for Illegal Tobacco and Vaping Sales to Underage Individuals
Clinton, TN – May 16, 2025
In response to multiple community complaints regarding the illegal sale of tobacco and vaping products to individuals under the legal age, the Clinton Police Department, in cooperation with the 7th Judicial Crime Task Force, conducted a series of undercover compliance checks at local businesses on May 14, 2025.
The operation utilized a 20-year-old undercover individual who appeared under the age of 30, in accordance with T.C.A. 39-17-1504, which prohibits the sale of tobacco and vaping products to persons under 21 and requires age verification for anyone appearing under 30.

REPEAT VIOLATION
Additionally, the investigation revealed that another clerk at the Tobacco & Vape store, was previously charged on March 22, 2025, with violating T.C.A. 39-17-1504. This marks the second offense at the same location within a two-month span.
ENFORCEMENT OUTCOME
